Fireflies is inclusive in its approach and believes that in the twenty-first century, we should accept all the great religious traditions as the collective heritage of humankind. No religious teaching should be the property of any single community, but belong to any seeker who can draw meaning from it.

At Fireflies we acknowledge and learn from the Buddha, Kabir, Christ, Basava, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Ramana Maharishi, Krishnamurthi, and many others. Likewise we also believe in the contribution that secular thinking has made to the advancement of human freedoms.

It is however important to integrate modern secular thinking with those intuitive insights that give meaning to our daily lives. The sacred and the secular have to meet if we have to solve the serious personal, social and environmental problems facing humanity today.
